Cover to He-Man the Eternity War TBP Volume 2 is revealed!

While it was reported earlier that the cover to Volume 2 Trade Paperback for He-Man the Eternity War would be different from what was shown in early solicits, it now has been confirmed with appropriate credits!

The Volume collects remaining issues #07-15 of the comic series run.

As the Eternity War rages, Skeletor’s past is brought to light. He-Man and She-Ra must find a way to halt his growing threat and fight for a peaceful future even as they are faced with Teela’s fearsome premonitions of a universe doomed under Hordak’s rule. Collects HE-MAN: THE ETERNITY WAR #7-15.

DC Comics has it scheduled for April 27th release (while Amazon shows it coming May 3rd.)

Page-spread of Silhouette Characters by Pop!

After seeing the preview pages for upcoming issue #15 of He-Man the Eternity War (out on Feb 24th, 2016), fans were puzzled by some of the characters seen only in silhouette.

Artist Pop Mhan graciously has shared the B&W illustration for the page-spread unlettered so we can get a proper glimpse of the art.

Some characters are easier to recognize on what appears to be Orko, Stratos, Sy-Klone, Fisto and Buzz-Off.  And at the bottom-right Roboto (what looks possibly to be from movie concept design as seen in Art of He-Man book... especially since he has the hammer on his hand) and on that note at the bottom-left could be Moss Man, also somewhat based on movie-concept design. We'll have to wait and find out. Female in the middle may be Teela and on the left side some fans speculate could be Chief Carnivus, with the curved blade and a tail...

Given how the new floating Castle Grayskull is also based on possible movie-concept designs, its not too far fetched to see other elements being used here. (Orko may be a stretch, but I included it here anycase) :P

As it has been pointed out, a very cool thing to see is that the first page for the upcoming Eternity War issue mirrors the first page from issue #1 from the 2012 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe mini-series (first printed comic).

Will be interesting to see what other easter-eggs will be in it. :)

Unedited Page Art by Pop Mhan from He-Man the Eternity War #14

Over at his facebook-page, artist Pop Mhan was kind enough to showcase some before-and-after images to what goes into making a He-Man comic.

In the form of the original Black & White art for Page 04 of He-Man the Eternity War #14 that came out January 2016.

Pop's comments:

This is the uncorrected version of the page I posted yesterday. As is a common trait with epic war scenes, sometimes it's hard to keep track of all the characters to highlight and I'll draw the wrong characters from what the script calls for. Or forget to include elements of the story in the page or panel. Kudos to Mattel for keeping me honest! I really love the production support I get on this book.Maybe I'll post more of these so you can see all of the mistakes I've made along the way to the finished product. There were LOTS. :)

You can see many discrepencies such as characters changed and even background altered on the page. Most clear changes being the effects around He-Man's Powersword and helmet covering his entire head.

In here below you can see final page with Mark H. Roberts' colors, the speech-balloons, lettering and logos.

Issue #11 comes out next week October 28th, 2015.

Thanks to the keen eye of member MegaGearMax over at He-Man.org - it looks like in the recent episode of the television sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" (season 9 episode 2)...

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe from DC Comics makes an appearance!

On the table in front of Leonard and Penny are stacks of comicbooks. One of which seems to be the cover with She-Ra in the center. Originally from issue #18 of the ongoing series back in 2014. That same cover was used for the Trade version - Volume 5.

The cover to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe #18 pays homage to the classic William George paintings of the Masters of the Universe characters that many kids had as posters.

No info yet on why the change was made in the final comic issue. If it was DC or Mattel that wanted to tone it down a notch. Nevertheless, it's really cool to see this page in its uncensored, raw version.
